What is Circular Strength Training?

Circular Strength Training (CST) is a protocol that build strength in the three dimensions of movement. Developed by Coach Scott Sonnon, CST enables you to recover the mobility you had as a child, with strength incomparable to the results of weights.

CST is the perfect compliment to everything from weight training to yoga practice, martial arts to general fitness training, or is an excellent and complete fitness system by itself. It can be used to undo the daily stresses and traumas of life and work.

Circular Strength Training (CST) combines movement, breathing and structure into a comprehensive, performance enhancing system. Whether you are looking to gain mass, lose fat, enhance your performance or reclaim mobility, CST provides you with the techniques to surpass your goals.

How is it different than lifting weights?

Traditional weight training moves the resistance through a single plane of motion, normally either a push or a pull. Using the patented Clubbells™, CST creates strength through your body’s normal movements and ranges of motion.

Coupled with IntuFlow®,a mobility program designed to facilitate the recovery of your joints’ complete, uninhibited range of motion, CST can help “clean the slate” of daily stress and trauma that accumulates in your joints and muscles

IntuFlow® is the first wing of CST. IntuFlow® encourages the recovery of your full mobility of your joints. In keeping with RMAX’s “health first” approach, IntuFlow allows you to clean the slate.

Daily wear and tear, stress, injuries and training can cause overcompensations and injuries that limit your joints natural range of motion. The program and methodology of IntuFlow® allows you to safely and systematically recover this mobility while providing a mild workout.

Recovery of your joint mobility not only produces healthy joints, but also allows for more efficient movement. Higher efficiency can translate into greater strength gains or better athletic performance!

FlowFit™ is an incremental cardiovascualr training program based on the CST principles. While providing the benefit of IntuFlow®, FlowFit™ also serves to increase your heart rate. This program works to increase joint mobility, increase cardiovascular conditioning, burn fat and build strength with bodyweight movements.

Clubbells™ comprise the strength training aspect of CST. Due to the innovative design, with the weight displaced from the grip, Clubbells™ make for a challenging workout while building strength, giving a great cardiovascular workout and building endurance. All of this work is done while reinforcing the aspects of IntuFlow and improving joint health and overall mobility.

Unlike machines or free weights, which move in linear ranges/motions, Clubbells™ can be moved in any direction that the joint normally moves. You are not limited to linear movements, but instead can explore natural ranges of motion. Moving your joints and muscles through these ranges makes for a challenging workout, while still being fun and dynamic.

The prehabilitative aspect of Clubbells™ is also an interesting result. Since your body will grow accustomed to having the halt, translate and respond to movement that is non-linear and dynamic, your balance and ability to recover from unexpected motions or movements improves.
